Hi and welcome to #irc-postcards...one of THE most popular and most fun channels on the undernet. And definitely THE friendliest! I'm Stormii, the channel manager and I'd like take a couple of minutes to tell you about the channel.

#irc-postcards has been around since the spring of 1996 before I registered it with the undernet, where it officially became #irc-postcards on December 21, 1996, The channel started out as a small and friendly chat channel, where occasionally postcards were exchanged among visitors. After several weeks of receiving postcards from numerous states and countries, I rented a post office box downtown for the cards to be sent. Then I set a goal, to receive a postcard from every state within the United States and from every country in the world. Let me finish telling you what to expect from #irc-postcards. As I said earlier, the channel started as a small friendly chat channel where there was absolutely no filth allowed. If you're into cursing or looking for internet sex then you might as well keep trucking, you won't find it in #irc-postcards. (You'll most likely be warned then kicked and/or banned for inappropriate behavior) What you'll find in the channel is a good, clean and wholesome atmosphere where so many of us regard our close friends/members as "extended family members." I'm quite known for ruling the channel with a "firm hand". We're still the friendly chat channel we started out to be but have grown extensively in the "number of gang members." I personally try to greet each visitor individually as he or she comes through the pc's "revolving" doorway, making everyone feel as comfortable as possible. But I can't be there all the time, I'm normally found in the channel around my midnight (EST) till sometimes early the next morning. And I'm sooo proud of all of "my gang" ... where there is always someone there to "lend a helping hand", for someone always being there if another member needs a shoulder or when someone simply wants to "chat". #irc-postcards door is open 24 hours, though the majority of the gang will be found during my hours on irc. There could never be a finer group of people found anywhere on the Internet than in #irc-postcards!

I have personally been through a lot (physically and emotionally) during my lifetime and I must admit that I have immensely enjoyed sharing, literally, the last two years of my life with my gang. Click on each of the links below to find pics and small bio's of the gang members. The menu includes a "little bit of this and a little bit of that" ... Share with us our families, our birthdays, our pets, weddings, favorite recipes, webpages of the members, me meeting gang members for the first time, the menu grows continuously! And please give each page time to "download"; there are lots of pictures on certain pages and there IS music on almost every page. Even follow me, Stormii, through what could have been a "fatal spider bite" and meet the gang member who diagnosed the bite the first night he heard about it, even though he was 3,000 miles away. All kinds of tales awaits you in #irc-postcards! You're gonna love us, I know!!
